Ivan Marchuk and ‘Awakening’

A work of art became a name — and a way of understanding renewal.

The work

A language of inner movement

The name of our organisation comes from ‘Awakening’, a work by the acclaimed Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk. For us, the painting speaks of inner movement, memory, fragility and the possibility of renewal.

Awakening is more than a name. It expresses our belief that art can reach places that ordinary language cannot. It can help people rediscover their creative potential, reconnect with cultural memory and begin again.
